Norman Noble Wins NTMA Superior Safety Award for Second Consecutive Year

May 5, 2025

Award Highlights Company’s Continued Commitment to Workplace Safety.

Norman Noble has received the National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA) 2024 Superior Safety Award, marking the second consecutive year the company has earned this national recognition.

Presented annually by the NTMA, the Superior Safety Award honors member companies that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to workplace safety. Norman Noble was recognized for maintaining an extremely low incident rate, well below the industry average, across its advanced manufacturing facilities.

Norman Noble tracks a comprehensive set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through its Daily Management System to evaluate progress towards health, safety, and environmental goals. These KPIs include metrics such as lost-time claims, recordable injuries, first aid incidents, near misses, days of restricted work activity, the maximum number of consecutive days without a lost-time claim, among others.

At Norman Noble, the Senior Management Team promotes a culture where safety is deeply embedded in our daily operations. Julie Bennett Lowry, Director of Facilities and Environmental Health and Safety, explains, “We integrate safety into our daily Gemba Walks, which are documented in our Daily Management System (DMS). This system ensures that any safety issues identified can be addressed quickly and effectively.” Thanks to this proactive approach, Norman Noble recorded zero lost-time claims in the 2024 calendar year—an achievement recognized by the NTMA for Superior Safety Performance. As of May 1, 2025, the company has maintained over 1,092 days without a lost-time claim.

With more than 275,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 500 employees, Norman Noble continues to set industry standards in safety and innovation. The company manufactures critical components for life-saving medical vascular and orthopedic implants.
