Norman Noble Enhances Final Inspection Capabilities

August 22, 2025

New System Advances Automated Visual Inspection of Medical Implants.

Norman Noble has further strengthened its inspection capabilities with the addition of a high-performance 3D optical metrology system designed specifically for challenging surfaces and geometries on implants such as contoured stents and heart valve frames.

The system uses an innovative pivoting illumination head to scan complex parts without compromising speed or accuracy—making it ideal for inspecting medical implants with small diameters, steep angles, or reflective materials.

“The automated visual inspection system expands our inspection capabilities by providing high-resolution, non-contact surface measurements on complex geometries with unparalleled accuracy and precision. This strengthens our ability to verify critical-to-function features and maintain the high level of quality our OEM partners expect,” said Annie Wolfe, Director of Quality at Norman Noble.

The inspection system enables Norman Noble’s engineering and quality teams to validate intricate geometries and surface topographies with greater repeatability. For OEM partners, this translates into faster development cycles, reduced risk, and higher assurance that every part meets specification.

By investing in next-generation inspection technologies, Norman Noble continues to lead in manufacturing innovation and quality assurance for medical implants.
