Multi Axis Contour Milling

Single Operation, Automated.

Norman Noble uses our state-of-the-art machines for the highest speed, single-operation milling for the smallest and most complex parts in the medtech industry.

Our high-precision contour milling equipment manufactures 3-dimensional parts, such as metallic or PEEK-based spinal and extremity implants, by milling and turning parts in one cycle from bar-fed stock to a complete six-sided part. This unique milling process eliminates the need for multiple operations and specialized fixtures typically found in the production of complex shapes and forms.

Our Norman Noble programmers develop lean manufacturing methods that allow for the most efficient sequencing of drilling, reaming, threading, turning and contour milling. In addition they carefully select tooling (e.g., cobalt, carbide, etc.) to optimize the quality and speed of our production process. Programmers use industry leading Gibbs CAM software in conjunction with Pro-E, SolidWorks, and Creo parametic modeling to create machine programs for up to 7 axes of simultaneous machining.

With more than 12 work centers for 4-5 axis vertical & horizontal milling and 17 Willemin-Macodel 5-7-axis contour milling/turning centers, Norman Noble is one of the largest providers of single-operation multi-axis machining in the United States.
